Vice President, Information and Library Science Student Association

About the Candidate and Platform

((This is a nomination submitted by Rachel Anne Spencer on Rachel Morris’ behalf.))

Rachel Morris is a first-year SILS grad student currently pursuing the Youth Services track. She hails from California, where she attended UC Berkley for her undergraduate degree. She enjoys writing YA fantasy novels, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I believe Rachel Morris would serve as an excellent vice president because she is an excellent communicator and is highly organized. This is evidenced by her simultaneous engagement in her SILS classes, the querying process (for her novel), and work at the Chapel Hill public library. Busy though she may be, Rachel is doing well in her classes and always finds time to spend with friends. I think she has hacked the “Choose 3” college life triangle or just has a secret bottomless pit filled with coffee.

It would be a pleasure to serve as an ILSSA officer with someone so well-spoken, well-read, and well-adjusted.
