Office
Vice President, Student Chapter of the Society of American ArchivistsAbout the Candidate and Platform
Hi, I’m Meredith! I started my MLS in January of this year and I am pursuing the ARM specialization. Prior to beginning the program, I worked for a year at the Westchester County Archives. Since then I have interned with the Marist College Archives and Special Collections, the Law Library of Congress, and the CNN Library. Currently, I am a Graduate Digitization Assistant at NC State University Special Collections. Not to fear, I would still have the time to be the Vice President of SCOSAA.
Throughout my undergraduate career at Tulane University, I gained experience planning events and running a committee with my involvement on the Relay For Life planning board and serving as the director for a year. I would bring the skills and lessons learned during that time to this position. As an officer, I would like to continue traditional SCOSAA events such as the Test Kitchen, but also increase the amount of programming throughout the semester. I believe there should be a balanced combination of social events for our members and professional programming. I would place great importance on finding out and listening to what types of activities our members would like the board to plan.
