I’m pursuing an MSLS with intentions of pursuing school media certification. I am interested in the social justice and equity implications of library collections for children and young adults.I have worked in elementary education for many years and am the parent of two. I have worked on the board of The Possibility Project-Charlotte, a social justice organization that engages young people with story telling, performing arts and social action.
As a COYL officer, I want to focus on gathering SILS students to talk about literature for child and youth. I’d love to find ways to engage with youth in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area.
