Edible Books Contest
April 28, 2017 | 12:00 pm
Join us for the SILS Library’s Fourth Annual Edible Books Contest on Friday, April 28.
How would you translate a book into an edible creation? Enter our contest by creating an edible ‘book’ inspired by a title in the SILS Library collection! The edible book can look like a book cover or interpret the book in another way. (See photos from last year’s contest here.) Creativity is encouraged!
Entries should be dropped off at the SILS Library workroom in Manning Hall by noon on Friday, April 28. Submit your entry online: tinyurl.com/silscontest
Participants, attendees, and the guest judges will view and admire the entries until 2pm. One winning entry from each of the following categories will be selected:
Best in Show
Most Humorous
Best Entry based on a Book for Children or Teens
People’s Choice (selected by popular vote!)
The winner from each category will receive a $15.00 gift card from Starbucks. Anyone from the UNC and Chapel Hill-Carrboro communities is cordially invited to participate.
Schedule:
8am – 12pm: Drop off entries at the SILS Library workroom
12pm: Welcome & public viewing (Cake will be available!)
1:30 – 2pm: Judging of edible books
2pm: Announcement of contest results & eating the entries
