Community Development (Social) Co-chair , Information and Library Science Student Association

About the Candidate and Platform

Hi everyone! I’m Will Osborne, and I’d love to be your social co-chair this coming year! I received my B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University. I currently work as a library assistant at the Cary Public Library. I’ve always enjoyed being an active part of my community. As an undergraduate, I participated in several student organizations, and volunteered at the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. In my current job, I have also worked with my fellow co-workers to solicit donations from local businesses to support our summer reading program. I’m also an Eagle Scout; for my final project, I coordinated with local businesses and social service agencies to provide school supplies to underprivileged youth.

As social co-chair, I would like to work with my fellow chair to bring fun and engaging events to our fellow students. Graduate school can be stressful; I want to provide occasions for students to network and get to know their fellow students more casually. I want to continue the great work Tabitha and Brittany have done as social co-chairs and work with my fellow officers to make our program as inviting to others as it has been to me.

Thank you for your consideration!
