Office
Vice President, Student Chapter of the American Library AssociationAbout the Candidate and Platform

Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a first year MSLS student from Chicago. Prior to starting the program, I spent 3 years working as a teacher, first in Memphis and then Madrid. I also served as the department assistant and English-library coordinator in Madrid. I currently work at the Undergrad Library, and I’m very excited to collaborate with the other SCALA officers and fellow SILS students!
As SCALA Vice President, I would work closely with the President to plan and execute events and programming. As a campus liaison with the ALA, I would promote conference attendance and professional development opportunities, while connecting SILS students with contacts across the nation. In addition to continuing the spring book sale, I would organize events concerning diversity and inclusion in libraries, and work to increase student access to ALA resources. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to serving everyone in the SILS program!
