President, Art and Museum Library and Information Student Society

About the Candidate and Platform

I am a first years LS masters student and I work in the Sloane Art Library. I’m from Boston, MA, and I just completed my undergraduate degree in Medieval Studies and Public History / Museums / Archives / Digital Humanities at Mount Holyoke College. I spent four summers working in the Museum of Fine Arts Boston library as an intern, where I did book conservation, deliveries, processing, and other fun stuff with art-related materials. I also worked in the MHC archives and spent two years as a tour guide at the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum. The majority of my research at MHC was related to a digital humanities project on Syriac paleography where I used 5th- through 12th-century Syriac manuscripts. I even had the opportunity to travel to the British Library to photograph these manuscripts last summer!
I love working at Sloane, and as AMLISS president, I would work toward partnering with Sloane and sharing all the resources there with you. I would like to engage more people with art and museum librarianship and attract more attention to AMLISS. I love organizing events, so I would attempt to organize more events for the group and SILS at large. I am passionate about art librarianship, and I hope that you choose me for this position.
