My name is Brittany Soder and many of you probably know me from my work with ILSSA and SCALA this previous year. While most complete SILS in two years, I have decided to work through the program at a slightly slower pace and take an extra semester. This puts me in an unique position to continue my work in SILS student organizations. In this past year I have cultivated my leadership skills as SCALA President and consistently planned programs and events as the ILSSA Social Co-chair. But why not stay with a group that I have worked with for the past year? As I pursue youth librarianship and work to complete my media specialist certificate I am ready to take the skills I have learned in the past year and assist with the work of COYL. If elected I will focus my energy on professional development programs for anyone interested in youth librarianship, as well as collaborate with other student groups to provide a wide range of interesting and fun events throughout the next year!
